I know I need to replace the carpeting in my 1980 convertible. I am a little frustrated by my choices and the inability to get any information from our favorite parts suppliers..
1) Called Victoria British. They first told me they didn't send samples, then as I was about to hang up told me to hold on then says he was told they could indeed accomodate me. 3 days later, I get a phone call that they could not!
2) Tried Moss Motors. I emailed them and they e mailed me back that they would go in the mail that day. 3 days later, I get an e mail that they didn't send out samples.
Each of these fine vendors to list severel different types of carpeting in their catalogs.
I don't know how anyone can make an intelligent decision based just on the info in their catalogs. Seems ridiculous. I canted a company in New Jersey that advertises on E bay. I had the samples in 2 days, no problem.
That was my rant!
Now for 2 constructive questions:
1) Does anyone still have the "formed" carpeting for our cars? Are we stuck with piecing it together?
2) Any other thoughts on a supplier? I am in the USA. I have bought from Rimmers in the past but I just figured it eould not make sense to go across the pond for carpeting.
Any advice appreciated.
