My Spider doesn't get many miles on it when I'm working on the island - by the time I'm done working in the Land Rover, it's too late for much extra driving. This island is small enough so that it's hard to get out of 3d gear on our roads.

However, starting tomorrow, the TR-7 becomes the "mainland car" for a series of presentations I'm making this summer. So it must sit in the ferry terminal parking lot, wait 7-10 days for me to return, then start and travel hundreds of miles without incident.

It now has fresh oil and a new filter, and at 108,000 miles, seems to run quite well. We'll see how the next 1,500 + miles of driving to these talks goes.

Thanks to the help and advice from you all I am about to hit the tarmac in my wedge[:D].I have always wanted one since I was about six and saw a yellow FHC turning into a rather nice gravel driveway nr my home.I have finaly got my own to drive only 30 yrs later[:0].I have been impatient with my rolling resto and bought my car in April then spent the rest of the time till now waiting on garages to do simple tasks.I still have a few niggles to sort out and the car is christend 'BAGPUSS'... a little loose at the seams...,but steph loved it[:)] I have learnt a hard lesson of DIY to get it done and so the remaining jobs will be tackled by me and dad.Not till the winter now though I am gonna drive it as is WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE [8D]
I have seen two TR7s on the road recently BTW .One was a red DHC at the bottom of birdlip hill heading for Gloucester in the am rush hour and the other was a burgandy DHC on the M62 just outside Manchester on a Tuesday lunchtime. Both were going rather fast officer[:I]

On the recent Tour of the Peaks there were 5 TR7s and 18 other TRs. I am still using my white FHC as an everyday car.

WAC275S is being used most days.. keep checking the "spotted" section but it's never me! Seen quite a few classics recently around here, mostly Stags and Heralds.

Passed a convoy of MX5's a couple of days ago, must have been 20 of them. I wonder what they made of "Tony Pond" going the other way!

My FHC is kept on the road all year round, although i avoid driving it in the worst of the English weather.

Our generally good spring/summer so far has meant lots of opportunities get out & about[:)]

Use mine every weekend attending various events from huge car shows to small village fetes. in the smaller events I'm usually <b>The only TR7 in the village (fete)</b>
Fine by me as I don't want to be one of a herd.
Today I was at <b>Melton Mowbray food festival</b> Brill!!
Lots of fine food and drink to sample and buy.
Even managed to park near to the <b>"Melton Mowbray EYE!</b>[;)]

I drove mine up to the track on Sunday to watch some poor drivers race in the wet. 2 hour trip each way through rain, wind & cold & I could hardly see the road on the trip home in the dark because of the glare of all the 4x4 headlights but it was still quality time. If I didn't drive it on wet days it wouldn't get much use.

I keep mine taxed all year round. It's used at least every week-end in the summer, and in the winter if it's dry and previous rain has washed the salt off the roads (and I have a working water pump of course!)

Yes - my TR7 is out and about - for June/July/August and maybe September if the weather looks at all promising! Otherwise - my Morris Traveller will have to take the strain for the autumn shows.

My FHC is my daily driver in sun, rain, snow, whatever.
Well, everything except heavy snow as I am too cheap to buy proper
snow tires. That gives me an excuse to stay home from work.
I had a Trail-a-bike when my girls were small. Now they have both graduated from high school and one of them has her own car, and is a darn good driver![:D]

Cheers,
Rich

Well I've probably done more miles this year already than I did in the previous 2 years !
enthusiasm has increased car feels better the more I use it...I think it's still loosening up after a 5 year lay up.
Owned it for 21 years now. 20.95 years as a V8..

If it isn't broken, I can still fix it
