TR7 CHROME WIPER BLADES???

Hi guys just wondered as you know me i often do, i recently took the black paint of my wiper arms as it was flaking and thought it looked quite nice as it was so i dcided instead of priming and respraying them black im gonna keep them as they are, what i was wondered is there any chrome wiper blades that you can buy to fit the TR7 im sure there is a company called Tex that do, but is there anyone else, or indeed are they pricey, i will be going to Stonleigh also in search while im there.

Personally I think they will look a bit naff against the big black strip that goes along the bottom of the widscreen.

steve there is a guy who sells on ebay chrome rocker covers i bought one of his demick ones for about £25 and a couple of other people have also bought chrome items of him search ebaby for chromeworld he will do them both arms, nuts, bolts and everything and i wouldn't expect any more than £30 all in.... you send him all you want chroming and he'll send them back to gleaming
i'll pm his mobile number if you want it but don't ring him until after 2pm

Are there any chroming companies in your area? It's probably better to have the original parts chromed rather than fitting universal bits. It's not usually that expensive.

Gaz, many thanks i think i know the chap you are talking about, well his ebay name at least, is it flyingfinch? i had thought bout getting some bits and pieces cromed from him at a later date, ie the rocker and air box etc, but thanks for the reply,
Andy to be honest i dont think there is a chromer local here to tell you the truth, until now i havent really inquied, but its certainly worth investigating.

I can't apologise for being opinionated, Steve, but maybe I should have said that chroming that black strip would set those new wiper blades off beautifully. [:)]

Chroming in NZ has become a bl[:(!][:(!]dy pain. Because of the toxic chemicals involved the compliance costs have soared so high that many shops just won't do it anymore. One bloke who still does it has taken to 'losing' your bits so he can flog them off to bolster his rapidly dwindling income. Incredible to think that such a thing could happen in paradise.

Thanks Gaz, yeah i have seen the work he has done, Mac had his Rocker cover, airbox & a few other bits chromed and i have to say,they looked excellent worth every penny, i will def get those bits done, when the nessecity bits if you like are done first, ment to ask are you going to Stoenleigh on March the 8th?

The original reason for the black wipers was, at least in the North American market, was to reduce glare; it was a "safety" requirement to sell cars in the US.

Given the angle of the windshield, the seating position and the height of the wiper arms, you might want to think about the sunrise or dusk glare. It gets severe here in New England. I'm glad mine are matte black and flaking.

i agree with the all cars looking the same not evryones cup of tea, me i am a fan of old school custom cars not the max power type, my original project car til it got vandalised was a 1970 morris minor i was prepping to fit a rover v8, love the chrome look and my dhc will eventually sport a few shiny bits.... and the worst part of all, sold the rover lump before buying the tr.... gutting or what.,....
