I´m aware i might have a problem here, and i can´t disagree with the advice given, first because the sun here is certainly EXTREME in summer and secondly all my mods are untested, i´ve got (what some people consider will be) a perpetually dismantled TR 7!
One of the enjoyments of restoration or modification is trying to get round all those problems that arise. I´ve come across an "intermediate position/decision" that could actually be an improvement, this would be to give the wipers a buff with one of those satinizing mops that leave a matt/satin finish, i vaguely remember the XJ6 Series2 having this finish. Time will tell if i get away with this one!
I wonder what kind of reflecting problems i´ll encounter with my solid wood dashboard with glass gauge covers...

Hi George, its certainly a very interesting and good point, each classic car owner tends to add there own touch, when the paint was flaking of my wiper arms i thought right,i'll sand them back for prime and re-spray, but because they looked so nice in the there natural state as it were i thought mmm i wonder, so i still aint made me mind up on that on, as you say trial and error, and if i encounter any problems with it, i will put it back to satin black, i have taken lots of pics of my retoration as ive been going long but taken on proper camera not digital

Steve, if we get too keen on our bright wipers we can always use sunglasses for driving. When i finally fit all my shiny bits i`ll need them to approach the car!
On a serious note... if you´ve got a scanner you can start digitalizing and uploading your resto photos for us. It´s always interesting an encouraging to see what other people do on their cars and how they do it
