You don't need zinc in the oil with our modern over head cam design and it's steel cam. That's for the older push rod engines with flat tappets rather than roller followers. They lessened the zinc over the years to increase the life of the catalytic converters. There's some argument about how much the zinc shortens the life. Other than that zinc is a good thing. I'd rather have a bottle (actually I used half a bottle) of STP in the oil. Only costs a couple bucks per oil change.
