I have been mentally refing my idea of the perfect bodykit for a few years now. My plans for my FHC:
Work in front fender flares from a VE Commodore (to cover 235/40/18 tyres which I have already collected).
Fibreglass flares on the rear similar to those of a VE Commodore ute (blended bubble style) but bigger (to cover 275/30/20 tyres, of which I have collected one).
Front bar very similar to Lancia Stratos or 1973 Corvette (I have a fibreglass ’73 Vette bar; can’t find a front section of a Stratos replica, which would be my preferred).
Rear bar based on Z32 300zx item (which I have).
Short sail panel (incorporating area currently covered by “grilleâ€; air extraction duties taken care of by shark-gill louvres) that follows the contour line on the FHC(that currently terminates rather ubruptly) onto rear deck panel terminating at edge of rear deck i.e. start of boot-lid).
Louvres for rear window contoured to fit sail panel (a la Stratos).
And possibly:
Fixed lights with double-humped plexiglass cover blended into front panel
Bonnet with two large extraction vents at front of bonnet to vent hot air from radiator
This I will get to (along with the EPAS (I have both Corsa C and MGTF systems), fast ratio steering pinion (I got the last one from S&S a year or three ago), AC compressor (Sanden SD7 new in box), SD1 strut (bought NOS from Rimmers)/aluminium hub (haven’t got the Wilwood hubs yet but with the exchange rate with US this morning I may order them today!)/PCD conversion, GT30 turbo (actually a Nissan version from a VQ30DET), Rangie fuel injection system (all blasted, powdercoated, cleaned injectors etc) etc etc) when my wife allows me to stop working on the house I am building…which is three stories and over 500 square metres and taking forever as I am owner-building.
So: if anyone is good with Photoshop and feels like taking on my ideas as a project you would get an idea of what it will look like a few year earlier than the reality! And if you think it will look naff, that’s ok, this is my vision (this being a pre-emptive strike on all those who think 13 inch wheels were the pinnacle of automotive development[;)]). And yes, unusually for someone who is 191cm tall, I think short and stubby (as my concept would look) is great!
Let the flaming begin!
