well done silver i was racking my brain over the name of that car[:D]

Today i ordered my new hood and storage cover , after much ummmimg and ahhhhrrring , i decided on the blue , altho origionaly it was blue interior black hood , spoke to the body shop today they say the Triton green was the same as volkswagon, BL363s6 ??? im hopeing thats the right colour ? Zoe

got my panel today, and boot struts off him too so hoping my boot wont keep dropping on my head now.... he thought steve was coming for the engine today tho zoe,...lol, he has a nice tr7 v8 in his garage too, beautiful colour.... and there was a blue drophead in a barn on the farm the breaker is on, am sure was his ex wifes he said, he is a really sound guy though and glad called for the bits, wife and son hogging the bridge tomorrow so may get a bit of work done on mine while its quiet here......

Amber has finally gone to into the garage today , luckily only just down the road as she was all 'stripped off' !! now just have to wait , but will keep going and make sure they are doing her properly !! hope they dont have her too long !! zoe

ohhhh dear , Amber back in our garage , looking very sad , !! took her 2 weeks ago into garage to be 'attended to ' went to see how they were getting on , and guess what ? they hadnt started her , and she was left under a barn with windows open and keys under the seat , my temper got the better of me when i got home , and returned next day and took her home , with the bloke shouting 'we will do her soon ' i kept driving before i told him his fortune , and at a slightly greater cost she is booked in with a very good body shop (where steve my other half has his jensen done )at the end of the month !!! so lets hope !!! zoe

Zoe, just look at it this way, You are VERY LUCKY.

If the blokes at the first shop are that slack, looking after your
car, before they start, it's most unlikely they would have done any
better when they actually started the job. I think you've had a
lucky escape.

The bloke I use is not the best painter around, & he's slow. The 7
took 5 months, & the 8 took 9 months. However, I know that he will
look after my car well, & the job will be done to the very best of
his ability.

I think this is better than having the best painter, doing less than
his best, because "it's just an old Triumph".

Hope it goes well from now.

Sorry to hear that Zoe.

I agree with Hasbeen. You may have escaped an unforunate experience.

When my 7's bodywork was restored 20 years ago, I was told it would take 10 days. It was 10 weeks before my everyday car was ready. They managed to lose the tax disc, various trim parts were replaced with old tat taken off other cars, the speedo didn't work and the interior was thick with filler dust. 9 months later bubbles appeared under the bonnet's paintwork. Bizarrely all the brake pipes were replaced with copper.

You're well out of it and you did the right thing.

Here we are again , back on track !! Amber will be picked up this saturday to go in and have her makeover , so i will have her back on th road for Xmas i hope ,everything is sitting here waiting to go back on , new hood etc ,Zoe
