I agree with Hasbeen. You may have escaped an unforunate experience.
When my 7's bodywork was restored 20 years ago, I was told it would take 10 days. It was 10 weeks before my everyday car was ready. They managed to lose the tax disc, various trim parts were replaced with old tat taken off other cars, the speedo didn't work and the interior was thick with filler dust. 9 months later bubbles appeared under the bonnet's paintwork. Bizarrely all the brake pipes were replaced with copper.
You're well out of it and you did the right thing.
