HEllo from Calgary!

Hey guys,

I came across the forum just creeping around the 'net. My Lady's dad is keeping his TR7 in my auto tent for the winter, and I figure, in exchange for the free storage I'll get to play around and clean it up a bit. (hah wait - i store it and clean it?!)

I'm a computer tech from Calgary Alberta - not much into mechanics as i dont know better, but I have experience messin around with a Triumph 47 tiger (in the garage - magneto not sparking, still workin) and an old Japanese bike (Yamaha)

I like the site - like the Forums and all the information. Just thought i'd give a shout out to all of you - so,

Hi back Kenny. Welcome. You would do well to be able to have a go in a TR7. There are other Calgarians with these little cars who you might meet up with too. As for bikes, I've got a non runner (complete) 1960 yamaha 60 (I think)

Kenny welcome to the forum, I'm located in the NW Crowfoot area and have several Triumph projects on the go. Way too many my wife says [:D] Anyway drop me a line if you ever need a hand, my schedule is kind of wacky but we'll see what we can do[;)]

Oh yea, I've got a 79 convertible I'm keeping original, a 77 going through a V8 conversion and a 79 spitfire that I just want to see running [:D]

Oh and the latest arrival a 84 Honda Spree lol Non running of course.

Enjoy the site lots of help here and tons of knowledge.

Welcome Kenny. I'm not sure if you've made the deal of the century there but you may have opened a new door of discovery for yourself. I'm a computer tech too so that can't be used as a reason be mechanically challenged. But you're not a fully rounded until you can also garden & weave baskets. [:D][:D]

Welcome Kenny. I am a computer tech as well (semi-retired). Used to work for IBM in Calgary and lived in Silver Springs up Yoke's way. Small world isn't it? Actually prior to Computers I used to work on office products and these cars are simple to work on compared to trying to get an escapement pawl spring on, on an IBM Model D Executive. I'd lay money that 98% of auto mechanics couldn't do that.

Any way. No reason you can't learn to do what needs to be done. We all started from square one at some point. Important to get OEM manual or download the pdf file from jclays website so you're no working in the dark.

Welcome Kenny...

I'm in Calgary as well (actually Chestermere) and have a couple TR8's as well as a couple of TR7's. While I am not a comptuer tech (I'm electronics), I certainly do like to tinker with computers.

Fun cars - just keep them maintained! Good idea to retorque the head every year to keep it from falling off! :)
