Postby davesopener » 25 Aug 2009 16:54

After giving up trying to get the tr7 water temp gauge
to work decided to fit an alternative temp gauge
having never done this b4!
I wondered what advice I might need

Hi Dave,

How come your gauge doesn't work? Is it a bad gauge or the sender, or the wiring? I think I would try to find out what was bad and fix that rather than install a whole new gauge, sender and all.

Dave, if you are testing the TR7 gauges in the existing pod, and the tim gauge isn`t, then it may well be the printed circuit on the back of the instrument pod.

Have you tried taking the wires directly from the TR7 gauge to the sender, bypassing the circuit board? You may find this solves the problem.

gauge and just goes str8 to the right with both.
frustrating but at least tim gauge works
