As above, great thread and well done on the 4k!

I've been here just a few days short of four years now (blimey - where did that go?), and I honestly can't remember where I found it - probably google or somesuch.

I don't post as often as I'd like, because I quite often find what I need to know by searching previous posts. And on the odd occasion where I can answer a question, usually someone has beaten me to it with a much better reply! Still, I do what I can...

It's great to have a site like this, with such a depth of knowledge and a willingness to help - I remember a couple of years ago signing up to a Vauxhall forum with a question on my old Astra. It was a simple-ish question about the engine, and I foolishly thought I'd get the same sort of response you see here. My thread sunk right down with no replies - not even a 'welcome to the forum' type response. I never bothered going back, and the problem solved itself by way of a terminal cambelt failure... [B)]

i found the site on google i think or it may have been through a link on the TR Drivers club website, I joined out of shear desparation,
and the hope of seeing light at the end of the tunnel and all you guy's and gals helped make that possible and offered encouragment wether it was for getting it back on the road or just getting back from that garage fire,
and as Andy F said "the other thing the forum does is keeps my enthusiasm for the car on a high" ditto.

4000 WOW Clay
Now its my turn to suck up.
i beliver that Rob introduced me to the Forum back in July 2008
Thanks Man.
There is something in this forum I do not see anywhere else on the net.
We have something that unites us. This car that nobody likes,
but we Love.
The hardheaded way we go about trying to show people we are right, they are wrong.
We are having the last laugh .
We are happy.
Since nobody out there can see this, we want to yell it out and we find this place
I believe the only place where we can express it.
I tune in everyday and comment when I have somthing smart to say
or not.
The format is pleasing to my senses
i like the pics the way they are places.
I like to talk with people that are smarter than me.
i like people that share.
This is the place
I am glad you are here
I am not the only one.[:)]

I think it helps that Triumph owners in general know better than to be too up themselves. We know we don't have the best house in the best street but we are just happy to be enjoying the same view.

This is how you talk when you are up to your ears in buying a house.

WOW,
I can't beleive I have contributed the longest, is this really true? I guess I must have had my TR7 since late 2001 or early 2002. I have really enjoyed the owenership, starting from getting the car for free, it was going to get scrapped if I had not taken it, then I did the restoration which took me a couple of years. I then used the car daily for 3 years until I changed my job, now I only take it to work once a week (roll on Fridays).
The information sourced from this forum is great, it has helped me on numerious occasions and I hope I have helped other owners with my contributions. This Forum is the "The Best Triumph TR7/8 Forum on the net" without doubt.
Congrats jclay well done!!
Long may our discussions continue.
I am also pleased that my pal and neighbour Graham Robertson is also a TR7 enthusiast, it can be really helpful to compare at times.
I most likely found the site through a GOOGLE search but I cannot really remember.

Cheers
Danny

I bought my car in 2005 on a lark. I wanted a two seat convertable to fool around with in the summer. I found my '79 DHC in the local newspaper want ads. I new nothing about the car except what I remembered from those goofy ads. Like the Eskimo driving into the wedge shaped igloo. But this formum has fueled my appreciation for the car and now I'm hooked. There is great expertise here and without it I would have been lost. Thanks to all who contribute and keep it going.

I joined in December 2005 after I had finished a long arduous project getting the purple grinnall on the road - I found it through a reccomendation from Malcolm Paris who was the TR7/8 registrar for the TR Register at the time.

Met lots of great characters through the last 4 years from this forum and had all sorts of invaluable help not to mention inspiration on mods and upgrades!
