Triumph TR7/8 Headlight Conversion Kit

Postby TRfan » 04 Aug 2009 21:44

Hello all,

Does anyone know of a headlight conversion kit or a specific member project that results in a flush mounted set up under clear cover lens? ie: not pop ups

I've searched and searched but haven't seen anything.[:(]

Thanks for any leads.

Probably not legal for road use. The lights must be at a certain minimum height - which is why they 'pop up'!

I really like that headlight treatment. Not so much the tail lights. Cheers, Scott

True that, Cobber. I think I could get away with the headlights. I doubt, however that I'd be able to slide that lump past the "emissions police". Cheers, Scott

Here in Oz we have headlight height requirements according to the ADRs (Australian Design Rules) the dipped beam headlights must be no less than 500mm from the ground and no more than 1200mm above, they should also be a minimum of 600mm apart and no more than 400mm from the outside edge of the side of the vehicle.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Rosey, thanks for the link.

bmcecosse, Cobber, Good point. I hadn't considered the height requirements. I'm going to have to check in my area.

There is a minimum height in the UK - seems to be 500 mm - which is not a lot! But too low would be useless at night anyway!
