$225.00 TR7

Postby V8Wedgehead » 22 Apr 2009 16:34

Found and bought a Carmine Red 1978 TR7 coupe, moon roof, Automatic, Non AC with luggage rack and front spoiler. It has 78,000 miles, original paint, interior and best of all NO RUST any where! It has been off the road since 1992 due to an engine failure and had the engine and transmission pulled out of it and left garaged since! The engine and transmission are long gone too. The car is missing the luggage rack and keys but has a clean perfecr title!

Exellent find! The tub alone is worth more than the price.
So the big question... what are you planing to do with it?

Is the lower-half painted grey on yer coupe??

This '79DHC I just bought also has grey instead of black. Every other wedge Ive owned had black on the lower half, but this latest one I got is grey. And looks to be original. (also, mine is non-A/C too)

The lower half has faded to a grey color. They all do that. if you sand some of it off it has a black tint to it.

A good buy especially if your going to do an engine transpant any way (Buick V-6 transplant anyone) I know of a V6 and transmission (auto I believe) with only 3,000 Km complete with ECU for $600.

But I like my TCT better with only 30,000 miles and near new Pirelli tires for $100.[:)][:)][:)]

I can't believe they don't award medals for this kind of effort.

Let's start a fund and issue the Mild Steel Medal for services to to auto restoration. Anyone got an old shell we can cut discs from? [:D]

Good luck with your project, Michael.

I dont see the point of destroying a rust free, clean title/paper work TR7 especially one of some 6,600 for 1978 and even rarer autobox? I would rather stick it in a garage or see it go to a good home but not to be turned into some pitch-forks or paper clips[:0]

I managed to pass the red TR7 coupe on to another guy and in return he gave me a killer deal on a bright blue TR8 coupe! I have a daily/weekend driver now I will be getting sometime in the next few weeks!
