Crashed The Grinnall

Was out a wee run on Sunday and on the
way back (less than a mile from home) I
have a wee off in the Triumph[V]. i was
approaching a roundabout and... (lets
just say) the car went straight on...
rather than round the corner[:0]. Once
I got the car back to the shed (RAC were great)
and had a better look at the car, It does
not look as bad as I feared. Any way the car
will be transported to <font color="black"><font size="2">S&S PREPARATIONS</font id="size2"></font id="black">

this weekend and will hear from Richard or Simon
next week (good news I hope). I will try and get
some pics of the damage uploaded later, wing seems
to biggest panel damage, and the bottom radiator bracket
broke, anti-roll bar pop at both ends and the wheels hit
both sill's, both tyres burst and the alloys have a bit
of damage. I will keep you's infformed as to the health and
wellbeing of the Grinnall[;)]

Ow! Bad luck. Let me be the 1st to commiserate, I know exactly how you feel. I assume you weren't hurt. The damage sounds not too different to mine so I'll be interested to compare repair bills.

I don't think "the car just went straight on" is a good enough explanation though.

That's what happened to the damaged TR8 that I just sold. Previous owner just installed 3.9 engine and new stiff suspension. He was out for a ride and went straight off instead of going around the roundabout...only he hit a light pole square on the right front frame rail.
Hope yours is less damage, such a nice car,

Ouch so sorry to hear that as i was hoping to see that this year if you made it down tot he national... let's hope it's not too bad eh!

Hi Billy,
Bad luck mate, the main thing is that no one was hurt, metal can be repaired or replaced! Keep us informed on what Steve / Richard say please. You will have to post a link for your U Tube video so anyone who missed you and this car in action can watch it [;)] one of the best in car shot i have seen for along while!

What a shame after all that work but doesn't look to bad. A am sure S&S will have your car back on the road hopefully soon.

As the guys have said the boys at S&S will get it up and better than new

have the insurance company been good to you? ( as I am with the same company )

never know still got over 2 months to Billing

You could always go down with me and pick your car up from there

Sounds like an excuse for some upgrades as well.

Bad luck - just remember, enter roundabout, back off halfway round then back on throttle, then you exit backwards instead......er.

Hope the repair job goes ok.

Ouch! Let's see... you turn the steering wheel and the car went straight. Must be a broken steering arm.[:D]

I hear Formula 1's Carbon Indutry, Brembo and Hitco make really good brakes. [:D][:D][:D]

Just trying to make light of a unhappy incident. Thank goodness you have knowledgible people like S&S to do the work over there.

Oops ... [B)] Luckily no one was hurt.

Damage looks repairable although the joint between sill and front wing will be a challange to get repaired properly.

Wonder what the damage would have been if the roll-bar-end bushes hadn’t collapsed ...

Hi Billy

Glad to hear that no-one was hurt and I hope the damage both physical and financial is not too great.

In my experience, you need to teach the car a lesson if it doesn't do what you want. It's the only language they understand. Please see below.

Must have ben quite a 'bang' Billy - to pop the arb out like that! There may well be other damage to the subframe and strut mounts - but I'm sure ssprep will sort it all out properly. You've got a few weeks yet till the Scottish Shows start in earnest!
