Sounds like you still have some problematic/narrow minded old farts in Britain,
but you're not alone: I'll relate a comment overheard at a TR Club Sweden AGM some years back.

They always run a people's choice photo competition, every year - and this is what a woman say to
her friend (when they stand looking at the row of photographs up for judgment):
"I do hope THAT picture don't get any points - there's a Spitfire visible in the mirror-image on the door!"

From the tone in her voice it was obvious she was really upset by a Spitfire being present in the TR Club
photo competition. FYI: The picture in case show an immaculate TR6 (with a faint mirror image of a
Spit in part of the driver's side door area)... If thinking out loud like that, regarding a car that was the
same age and that share lots of parts with the TR6, one can only think what she'd said if she'd seen a
TR7... (Personally I'd never set my foot in that club as a member! They snubbed me and my '70 Mk3 off
in 1978 - leading to the founding of the Triumph Club of Sweden in 1979. Our presidents wife, who over-
heard the above conversation, feels the same I can assure you.) No wonder most of the TR7 owners
in Sweden, as well as all but one of the TR8 owners prefer to be a member of the Triumph Club!

(Parts of?) the TR Club Sweden is obviously a bigot and narrow minded bunch who cannot realize that
the future will tell them the opposite. They need to understand we're all Triumphs, and if we don't unite
and work together: divided we will fall...

btw
I'm a founding member of the TCS - and a member of TSSC, TR8CCA, TRDC and TRR(UK)
So, I don't need the TRCS...[8D]

Yes indeed, that's us. You'd be more than welcome to come along.

Not sure where you are but if your route would take you anywhere near to Bedford you'd be welcome to come along with me (and possibly John and Dale too). I usually go up the A6 and then along the A14.

John, you should get yourslef entered on the Historic Counties Run and make it a trio of V8's that are doing it (me and ant are on the run). Perhaps Paul would be up for co-driving??????? Check it out, should be fun!

MrT,

If you want an enquirey pack free sent to you on the TR Drivers club just send me a message with your name and address.

If you take up the offer, I hope you will enjoy the read and check out the events side in the mag. For example last year we went over to the Le Mans Classic, Castle Coombe Rally, National weekend Billing to name a few of the bigger shows.

This year for example in July going to the National weekend 3rd, 4th & 5th and Pageant of Power Cholmondelay Castle (similar too the Goodwood festival of Speed) on the 18th & 19th July.

I would check out the cost for example is only £25, with no joining fee. With Footman James Insurance scheme, which allow more than one classic on your insurance.

Hope to here from you

Regards

Jim

Just a reminder that it's the Northants and Leicester Club Triumph meeting tonight if any of you guys are still interested in coming along:

Tollemache Arms, Harrington (nr Kelmarsh, NN6 9NU - http://tollemacheharrington.com/) on the first Tuesday of each month from 19:30

be good to see you there if you can make it. Incidentally don't worry if you can't make it as early as 7:30, I never do, and we're usually there until 10 or so.

Bryce is my daughter's partner and I gave him the TR7 originally.

I will be helping him build it up tomorrow so we can get it ready for the Club Triumph track day at Cadwell on May 1st.

He is also helping me as service crew in my rallying and we hope to enter both cars in stage rallies when his is ready[:)]
