Postby paul w » 21 Mar 2009 15:13

What a great day.Sun 's out,nice and warm,so i ventured out in the
Grinnall to go see Bob and Simon and see if i cant get a cuppa out of
them.
They were pleased to see me as it'd been a while, what with being
unemployed and all that.I tried hard not to buy anything, but you just
gotta sneak away with whatever you can.See if you can spot what i got-
dont worry Si'did me a favour, got some wheel spacers (3/4")and some
sundries too.

Met a bloke down from Wellingborough(if i remember correctly)named
Paul and his TR7-
Image
It's got a £200 paint job-and he's picking holes in it!Si'said he
could'nt supply the paint for that!

Bob was drilling out the hood poppers on it"dont slip and scratch the
paint" i warned him,"its still soft"!Can you see whats just behind to
the left of it?well i had one of those silly idea's again.I bought the
instrument pod,(still gotta get the 8ugg3r out,bloody hidden bolts)for
a future project.
Si' made us a cuppa',and this is where i tested out the US cup holder
theory to the full-
Image
Mike Cutmore popped in "for a few nuts'n'bolts"for his concours TR7,
and i met Gordon Kerr with OVC,his 3.9 fhc, looking great in its platinum
paint-
Image
A nice touch are two bulges on the bonnet to stop it being dented by
the su's underneath-

A final mention to absentee's-John215,who was too wrapped up in mot'ing
a B'mer so called sports car! And hi to Moe,thanks for your phone call
this morning, good to speak to you again.
Joke of the day - This recession is worse than getting a divorce. You

Good to see you guys [:)]

Glad I didn't accept the invitation to look at the convertable v8's - seeing the pics you took I'm sure to have been tempted and I don't have any room for another car (and as I said to Simon if I did it would probably be a Stag - never driven or even been in one but always fancied one from the time they first came out)

Left OVC with the guys for them to take a look at the front nearside strut discovered some bits on there under the rubber cap which looked a bit as though the bearing might have started to come apart. On a closer look Simon thought it was actually some sealer but why was that there? Anyway to be on the safe side, and as we're off the the Lake District in a few weeks, he's gonna take a proper look. So if they find time this week I will probably be back there for the pick up next Saturday.

If the weather is still nice tomorrow I might go and retrieve GRD from my daughter's garage - it's time it was given a run [:)]

What alloys are those in the "nice wheels" picture? Launie (remeber him?) gave me a set of four last week but there is one with no centre peice and no lug nuts. What kind of lug nuts does it use?
