Zoe, its probably not bad dependent on the conditions. I assume its a 'classic' car insurance. I am with Adrian Flux and its about £100-110 pa for a limited mileage of 5000 miles and £2500 agreed value, allowing for it to be kept in the driveway (which it is in the summer). You are probably much younger than me too!

the car i was asking about was not the tr7, got a 1990 205 convertible and had a 96 ford probe, was just curious if either was classed as a modern classic and the one insurer said if it was a 1934 bugatti and didnt have a garage we would not insure it as a classic....nice huh....

did get a quote for the tr tho, 200 odd normally 129 if a club member, which is another reason why i joined the tr drivers club, anyone know of any of the companies that give discount if a member of this club?

once i get it mot'd will hopefully of sold the 205 and will get the tr insured, guess i should have laid up cover on it now but wife would freak if i insured another car,.....[B)]

Most of the classic specialists give a discount for belonging to a club, although some insist that you are a club member to ensure it is a genuine classic enthusiast not just a way of getting cheap insurance. Most also want you to have access to another car in the family, which might be called an every day driver.

I think some will accept a car over 15 years old as a 'modern' classic. A few years ago I met a guy with a '90 (IIRC) Saab 900 vert which he had insured as a classic.
