Front spoiler material

I have been on the net looking for DIY information on how to repair holes and dents in my spoiler. I see quite a bit of info on how to repair bumber covers. They talk about the different types of plastics that are used, each requiring a different repair technique. Does anyone have a clew as to what type of plastic was used to mold the front spoiler?

If it appears to be like fiberglass...then it is fiberglass.

If the surface is slippery feeling like tupperware...then it is polyethelene.

If it is rubbery feeling like the bumpers on most cars...then it is polyurethane.

Fiberglass breaks when over stressed. Polyethelene never breaks and is easy to cut with a knife. Polyurethane always returns to it's original shape after a deforming force is removed.

The below is from a site that talks about platic bumper repairs. Any of these plastics used on the TR7 spoiler?


"Not all plastic bumpers are made from the same stuff. But with the fascia removed, it's easy to identify the type of plastic because it's stamped into the back side. Stamps of PP (polypropylene), PPO (polyphenylene oxide) and TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) indicate plastics that smear easily when ground or machine sanded. (Our Civic bumper is made of polypropylene.) Stamps of PUR (polyurethane plastic rigid) and TPUR (thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer) are plastics that powder when ground or sanded."
