GAS BOOT STAY QUERY

Postby tr7inc » 02 Sep 2008 08:15

Hi just wondered as ive just purchased some new gas boot stays. before fitting them just wanted to ask, does it matter if they are fitted with a nut washer and bolt, or split pin? also not sure which way round the little metal plate goes on, daft i know but that was missing on mine.

Many thanks as always

Hi Steve,

I dont think it really matters if the little gas stays are fitted with nuts and bolts or Clevis pins and split pins, I have doubled up on the stays so I now have four fitted this helps quite a lot as I was getting through the stays at quite a rate!

As for the metal plate do you mean the one for the light switch?

Cheers
