I navigated on a few of the Sports Car Club of BC's winter rallies in the late 80's. I had an SCCA racer for a driver and he was great on the snow and gravel which was good as I was a lousy navigator. There's nothing like going flat out through a forest on the middle of the night. We ran a rear engined Skoda 135i with Bosch fuel injection and gave some of the 4wd cars (Eagle Talon etc) a run for the money. The Audi Quattros and Mazda 135awd's were in a different league though and we just didn't have the power to keep up with them.
That was a great time. [:D]

Agreed it's a bit micky mouse - a good training event though. Having said that I was 49th out of 58 so maybe mickey mouse is my level[:D]

No it's not what rallying has come to nowadays - this was an entry level event but all day with it lashing down was entertaining enough. I was pleased, however, with the number of people commenting how it was years since they had seen a TR7 out competing - at least I made their day

Next year I should be able to post some video from the Historic rally car Register's Northern rally championship and/or from the EMAMC multi-use rally championship.

I can't promise I'll be any good though but I will be enjoying it[:)]

I see the wipers are still standard TR7 then[:)]. Was that your daughter navigating?

Good effort. Out there "having a go". Fair play.
A lot of UK rally championships seem to envolve WRC cars these days.
A lot of interest in Historic rallying now aswell.

No, it wasn't my daughter.

I appealed for Club Triumph members who fancied having a go and got a response from one of the "usual suspects", Sarah Johnson, who had always fancied a go at co-driving.

We used this event as a training opportunity and to see if we got on OK - we are still speaking and we are aiming to go on as a team at higher level rallying[:)]
