Any good car museums in London?

Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

Any good car museums in London?

I am in London now, near Hyde park. I don't leave until Friday morning. I would like to see some car stuff if there is anything close. I don't have a car, I am just here on a layover.

Hi Sean,

Don't live in the ' The Big Smoke ' myself but only 30 miles up the M1 so have been down there a lot,

There are a couple just outside London, like one at Haynes -

Brooklands is a bit far out for you at a guess but very good with planes too and right next door to Mercedes world.

But within London although not a car museum as such but does contain ' mechanical stuff ' The Science Museum ' is worth a visit and a tube ride away.

If buses do it for you then at Covent Garden, worth a visit itself with street performers and Punch And Judy pub for a swift pint or two [;)], then there is London Transport Museum, only a tube ride away from where you are, don't be tempted to leave the station by step there over a 150 !!! use the very crowded lift or stay on to Charing Cross and walk round the corner -

Shame not here next week as there is Classic Car night at the Ace Café on Tuesday and will poss. be there myself if it ever stops raining !

Enjoy your stay,

Cheers John

There is also the RAF Museum:

It has at least one car [:)] and lots of planes [:p]

Just travel up the Northern line, IIRC.
