Has anyone made a TR7 car to use on a tomtom map display in place of the blue arrow?

I have done a BL Helmet. Not too difficult but for an actual TR7 pic you want a picture of the car will give the impression you are following the car in a helicopter - ie, from above & behind. This is so it fits with the 3D perspective. You need a 24 bit 80x80 pixel BMP image with a red background (the red is transparent). Then connect the TomTom to the computer & copy the picture to the Art/Cars folder on the TomTom.

BTW it only works with 3D view. With 2D view you can only have the default blue arrow.

I have the rear of mine as a TR7 "pointer" which does replace the 'orrible blue pointer. My TomTom is a 500. Quite happy to share it but, as it has Eor's reg number, may not be appropriate.

It's actually reasonably easy to achieve as well.

Has anybody managed to integrate a tom tom into the TR7 dashboard in a clever manner. I hate things that look ad hoc with trailing cables so it would be great to a tom tom pop up from that speaker grill in the centre or something, than pop down and be concealed when not in use.

The challenged is laid :-)

No fan of TomTom (or DomDom as we call it, which translates as StupidStupid).
I use a Garmin GPS/satnav, much better navigation and mapping, especially usefull when driving rallys.

Fairly simple but effective mount ...

And you can easily upload the route you've driven into Google Earth[:)]

I use a Magellan Roadmate 4.3" widescreen clipped to near centre vent. It's bright enough in sunlight with top down and loud enough to hear over traffic noise. My sister bought a Magellan when they went over to Italy years back (2005) for $1400. (I paid $149 for mine last year [8D]) Decided to go with Megallan after I read a review from a guy that had a Garmin and Megallan and prefered the latter. I like the idea of transferring travel to Google like Beans showed but wanted basic point A to point B loud directions with bright widescreen screen for as cheap as possible.
