Picture Perfect Day

Postby FI Spyder » 30 May 2009 01:37

The weather for the last week has been perfect with no end in sight (70'S F OR 20'S C), T-shirt weather. Had to go for a trip before supper down the narrow twisty road only an englishman would recognize to Genoa Bay (8 km down).

One of the boats there (happens to be American).

Lands end (end of the road anyways).

Sigh - it's done nothing but rain here for the past 4 days. Oh well, at least I've learned the wipers work well :).

Great photos!!!

I just got back from 4 days in Las Vegas. No rain there for sure but it is nice to be back where things are green and there is humidity!

Cheers,
Rich

It's been raining for 5 days here - the sun came out for 3 hours this afternoon and now the island is enveloped in fog.

The top has been down in the Spider for exactly two days this entire Spring. The replacement top [why can't they be as good as the original tops?] staves off most of the rain and the defroster has worked great in the lousy weather.

Can't wait for warm dry weather!

Last week we got 7 inches of rain, in 5 days. There are still parts
of my house paddock, [1.5 acres] where it's best not to walk.

It's been very welcome, my main dam has filled for the first time in
10 years.

This is normally a dryish time of year, with about 2 inches for the
month. Still it's perfect for topless motering, when it stops, with
mid 70s F days. a light breezes.

Spyder, you're lucky to have such roads. Around here, so many city
types were running off our roads, that they are either making them
4 lane scares [just a few], or restricting them to 60K/hour, in an
attempt to save the twits from themselves.

Looks like some nice waterways in your area, as well.

Almost thirty years ago a national magazine did "the 100 best things in Canada" and this area got 10 of them one of which was "the best protected sailing waters". Hundreds of islands, fiords, and if you want the open ocean experience the west side of the island gives you several hundred miles of that. Right up your alley for an ol' sailer like yourself.[:)]
