water in the drivers foot well sorted

Postby john » 20 Oct 2008 12:02

just had to share this one.

for a while now i've been trying to source the leak that made the drivers footwell a foot bath evertime it rained.

i tried all the usual suspects checked the heater matrix. all around the windshield but nope still couldn't find it.

so i took the door card off and sat there in the rain and hey presto there was my problem it was aoming inside the door and as i know now. at the bottom of the card is a flap on the vynal which had often puzzled me should it hang out or be folded back agianst the card when fitting back to the door.

well it became obvious that me BL had solved the problem of leaking rubbers around the windows by instaling this eatra piece of material and this flao should hang out and under the door as you close it

WOW so simple [:I]

Hi John,
Yes, I couldn't believe it either. Malvern show in the summer & in
the pouring rain both my footwells were soaked, so I made the enquiry. Door fabric had been cut and then tucked under. Crazy to think they are made for the water just to run straight through them.
