outer door handles

Postby DaveB » 19 Apr 2008 07:56

Although this is for my V8 Grinnall it is relevant for all wedges.
There is supposed to be a small rubber pad to make the outside door handle fit flush with the rest of the handle which is missing on mine - and almost all by the look of pics on this site !!
I have bought 2 replacements from Robsport which have a long cone shaped bit on the back which looks like is meant to fit into the hole behind the handle. My question is "how the ?%?% do yo fit them? Anyone else done this? Do I have to dismantle the whole mechanism
Look forward to your suggestions

Dave

Odd is probably correct if you want, as he says, "to do it properly" but I just used a very small amount of washing up liquid on the cone part, try not to get it on your fingers or the other bit or you'll never hold the thing again, and with a lot of perseverance managed to push them home.
