Janspeed also did a turbo kit for the TR7. I saw one a few years ago on a car that had been bought as a non runner, quite local to me.

The buyer restored the car but never got the turbo set up running right. He sold the car & about a year ago it was for sale down in the Dorchester, Dorset area, minus the turbo set up which IIRC someone on this forum had bought separately.

I seem to remember that the Australian distributors (I think it was JRA at the time) mucked about with the idea, I dunno if any were released or escaped into the wild.

I totally forgot to post info. it may have been Car and Driver mag in the early 80's. I thought I had It copied in my Photobucket library, but it's not.

I still have the magazine stash away at home.

I will try to remember to post info.

From what I remembered of the article, the engine block was highly modified to handle the added stress from the turbo charger.

It still dead after pushing the boast to high.

Saab seemed to do a good job at turbocharging the slant 4.

Yes I do, but I'm away from home at the moment.

I'll try to sometime over the weekend.

That was the only page for the tr7 turbo.

Yes, but Saab modified the basic design of the engine after a while and none was past back to BL.

Anyone know if the Saab slant 4 turbo is an easy swap back into a TR7?

Steve
