Hi Odd,
Cut,ground and filed all the webs off, was going to plug fill the pivot point for the watts linkage but mates TIG is messing around, so pushed out, cut down and pressed back in reverse for the time being.

Not perfect yet but will have another go when weld up that hole. Was thinking of doing the same all around the edges and grind down level so have left these untouched at the moment

Above how they look untouched

Thanks John!
I love it when great minds think alike...[:D]

This is how my project started out:

And this is how it's looking just now,
I'm still not fully satisfied with the finish and it's lacking the handbrake cable cage..:

I'll put one more here when it's finally fully done and fitted...

Interesting solution,
how do you avoid that the movement of the rear axle (relative the underside of the body) affect the handbrake cables?

Did you consider recessing the allen key screw heads into the lid material? I was thinking about it, but deemed
the amount of material in the rim of the lid insufficient - but it sure looks much better with recessed heads...

Hi,
As you said love it when great minds think alike [^] considered the same with the same outcome! May well fill the depressions around the edge with weld and then flatten to smooth off.
As far as suspension travel, the calipers i am running (Early Audi Quattro) req a fair amount of slack to adjust properly on the cable, and when i have had the car up on a four poster at work there is bugg3r all travel [:p] Will have it on a ramp on Saturday (MOT time [:)] )and take pictures of springs there aint a lot of travel!! The 2 cables are to join at the front by a yet to be made plate, with a hole in the middle for a adjustment rod running of the handbrake linkage. If you can visulise that!
Cheers John
