I removed my gauge cluster (the speedometer cable was a real pain - really - I'll have a another scar on my hand from this experience) to replace my dead clock with an oil pressure gauge. I disconnected two wire looms from the back and there's also a small single connector that I didn't disconnect (pics below). It might have popped off when I pulled the cluster out or it might not have been connected at all. There is a matching tab on the back of the cluster, so I assume that's where it connects.
My question: what is it and what does it do?

BTW, removing the clear plastic gauge cover showed me exactly how UNclear it actually was. Some plastic polish and about 15 minutes time made it look like new. I recommend this detail job to everyone - it's easy and the results can be dramatic depending on how cloudy yours currently is.
