FRONT BRAKE DISKS GREASE CAP CENTRE FINISHER

Postby tr7inc » 26 Jan 2009 18:52

Hi guys, just wondered while i was out checking my car over, winter being here and that, i noticed when i took my front whels off to check everything that i havent got a wheel centre finisher on one side, least thats what i think its called, its the metal cap that sits in front of the brake disks, i should have taken a pic really, i just wondered if there was anyone out there who has a spare one kicking around there garage that they wanted to sell.

Many thanks as always

Hi,

Are you descibing the grease cap that protects the front wheel bearings from road dirt? I hope not. If so you'll need the clean the bearings out thoroughly, regrease and fit a new grease cap. Otherwise the bearings will become scrap, if not already.

Hi Adam, yeah i did mean the grease cap many thanks but all appears well as ive had my car recently checked over by a local classic car garage, and they couldnt find anything wrong with the car, but it is a very good point you made, which makes me more determined than ever to find a replacement cap if possible

Hi Steve,

The part no. is 2A4067 off the Rimmer Bros site. They are listed at £5.50 + vat each but if you google 2A4067 you'll find a dozen or so parts suppliers listing them from £3.85 + vat upwards.

Hope this helps,

Adam
