LUCAS 35DLM8 DISTRIBUTOR

Postby harrisole » 01 Jan 2008 11:22

Hi There,
Firstly a big thank you to john for sorting out my "BULLIT" dvd and was worth the wait as its got to be the best TR archive footage on disc plus all the extras ,well done a real credit .
Secondly my v8 conversion is at the stage where i would like to run up my rebuilt engine before fitting it in the car but im unsure of the distributor module wiring .
It is fitted with a LUCAS 35DLM8 distibutor with the ignition module fixed on the side of the distributor and the wires attached to this are RED,BLACK, BROWN AND GREEN i did not want to chance a guess in case it did some damage to the module .
Any help would be appreciated .
Thanks Keith.

Hi Keith
Most 35DML8 dizzy's i have come across have 2 or 3 pin connectors, however have seen 4 pin as well, normally a replacement for the original Rover item as they do suffer from overheating and failure. Do have you letters on each terminal connectors on the amp, poss B,C,G,W [?] Failing that can you post a picture of the dizzy and in particular the 'Black box' (Amp)
Cheers John
