Cheap v8 Conversion

Postby jetser » 23 Nov 2007 18:57

I looked at the site of S&S Preparations and they have 2 tr7(v8) for sale.
They cost 750 pound each.
You must see them as a donor car.
I think it would be an very nice and cheap price for an nice winter project!
If I saw that in Holland and had some space for it to put the car.
When are they opening a store in Holland?
Greetings Ilja

Hi,Ilja.I keep thinking about that red Grinnal with the rotten floor down at Robsport. That would be a cheap winter thrill!Trouble is when i mention it to the missus, she says i got enough unfinished cars as it is.theres the Austin 1300 - needs a gearbox, the Wolseley 1300 - needs brakes, clutch, tlc, the mini 1000 convertible - half way thro'a lengthy resto(about 3 years so far!)Then i gotta'respray the front spoiler on the V8!Should keep me going thro the next 5 winters!

See ya. Paul

These cars had the old hydrogalactic suspension and there was many I time had the car in a progressive 4 wheel drift [8D]

Yup,it has 'hydrogalactic'suspension, but its not a GT which has two SU's.Funnily enough my Wolseley has twin SU's,but its not badged a GT,but it does sport the grill badge that lights up.It too runs on that 'hydrogenated' springing, which from time to time sags a bit. Image the Wolseley'power plant'!

See ya. Paul

Hi Paul,
Looking at that picture of your Austin is like trip back in time for me, as an apprentice seamed to get them all that came through the door or the other guys wanted to work on the new stuff ie.Ambassadors Itals Allego's Maxi's ect (am i showing my age !! or what) ,i may be wrong but i am sure i worked on a Austin California[?] as well from time to time same shape as yours.
Looked at that Grinnal as well would make a great project or parts car, come on someone be brave! Going over there this morning but will resist, i will be strong!!! Happy divored so no wife to worry about either [:D] but to much left to do on the DHC.
Cheers John

What a terrible life we've got!
I also have a few other toys...
Going from my Tr7 spider to a Harley heritage softail and since a few months I also play with Bigscale RC toys(car and speedboat).
Would it help when you finish on of your projects for her to drive in ?
Greetings
