DOES IMITATION WOLFRACE WHEELS EXIST??

Postby tr7inc » 17 Nov 2007 12:02

Hi all yes its me again going on yet again about the wheels i bought las week, i got wolfrace look alike wheels only cos i knew they would fit my 7 as they came off one, firdt problem was they had the wrong nuts on, they didnt have washers even though it looks like the close up pics i have took look like they do, i can get wolfrace whhel nuts for them but if they arent wolfrace will they fit, is it worth have the few very very minor scuffs done on them in the future if they arent the geniune them? so many questions i know im starting to think thats wanting these wheels for so long now was it all worth it, i think i might just stick to my steel wheels as a safe bet, trouble is i love these old schol style wheels, my biggest problem is i dont have enough knowledge on these wheels 7 am worried that if they are fake and i put them on my 7 will they still be as safe as the real deal sort of speak. As always i am so greatful for advise and if you want to see any pics of them please feel free to email, any help i can get on this is one less thing for me to fred about

Hi Steve - why not contact Wolfrace for advice - they're in Essex, phone 0845 330 9896, of email them at info@wolfrace.co.uk. I'm sure they will help.

Wolfrace wheels say so on the edge of the rim - in a little panel. I believe there are some very similar wheels made by others - can't remember the make at the moment - but they will be perfectly safe to use.

Thanks Bm, i think the set i got are very nice i just wanted to be sure, trouble is cos im not sure of what make they are im not sure as to what wheel nuts they should have on them, my stell wheel nuts will tighten onto them, so i imagine the wheel nuts suited for it must be similar, but obviously not sure.

I think they must be 'Slot-Mag' wheels - very similar to Wolfrace.

As well as Wolferace there were 2 popular makes of slot mag wheels fitted to the TR7. the most popular in the UK were Cobra supaslots which had a plain rim whereas the Wolferace had its name and details cast in. The valve is in the same place as on the Wolferace. The most popular wheel in the US was the Appliance, similar in looks to both the other two but the valve comes out of the slot. I have a set of each, the centres are different sizes and the nuts are all different.

I say Chris, this would make an excellent article for 'The TR Driver'. Get that Robert onto it eh?
