Water Pump AGAIN

Postby g4zur » 16 Apr 2015 17:53

Hi all, just a quick one here. Have read on hear lots of posts about the dreaded water pump. Learned so much, yet again. I have stripped all off and can see pump in housing. Seized in of course. One question, If I turn the top bolt "left hand thread" tight and keep trying to tighten it. WILL IT SPIN OUT? without doing any more damage to anything.
Many thanks as always.
Regards Gareth.

The bolt will break.

Use a slide hammer to remove it or some have done it by bolt and arm across opening. Do search.

Remove said bolt. Buy a large hefty flat washer. Take them to a welder and have him grind one edge of the washer down flat, Stand it perpendicular on the top of the bolt head. weld it into place. Put it back into the water pump and use a slide hammer with a hock to go through the hole in the washer. Two or three good whacks with the slide hammer and it should pop out.
