Retro Show - Santa Pod 3rd July

Postby Chunk » 16 Jun 2011 22:03

Just a quick note to say i will be attending this event. I came out of hospital yesterday after having trapped nerve sorted in hand (carpel tunnel). The scar might be tender, but i'll manage.

There is a show and shine in the morning and i am feeling the urge to show while the old girl is still shinny. I believe John 215 may be attending. It is on a Sunday so he should be ok.[:)]
Cheers.

Hi John,
I had it on the road July last year, fitted new seats in August and then did 430 miles to run in before winter, which included rejetting, timing set, tracking checked, sills painted and a quick polish.
The winter work has made it ready for the strip - wider rear wheels and tyres, lighter flywheel and clutch and an aluminium radiator.
Should be good for a low 13. [;)] We shall see.
Finished? Some bigger front discs would be good.
Headlinning!! That might go in one day. [:)]
Catch you later, or July 3rd.
Phil

According to the web site, the TR Register have a club display parking area. So might be a fair few TR7's on site.

Today went to Santa Pod, met up with John, Wayne and Rosie ( forum name )

Excellent day especially seeing a TR7 V8 demolish a Subura Impreza on the strip.

Will go back next year.

John will hopefully upload some pictures of today for all to see.

Nice to see everyone, my first time at Santa Pod and I really enjoyed it. I saw the red FHC run and i also have some pictures of it which I will post.
The jet car was my favourite, 7.3 seconds and a terminal speed of 271 mph, bl00dy hell [:D][:p]
