possible new source for a tartan make-over.....

Don't know if anybody every saw these before, but I saw this for the first time today, the Interlagos interior trim for the 09 GTI!!!

Ok probably a little expensive to find a set of new/used seats right now, and most likely a bear to try a retrofit into our cars (guessing a electric seat)
but they sure would make/give a nice modern twist to a wedge interior .....

The seats are from the VW Golf GTI.

When they released the Mk5 GTI the standard seat trim was the Interlagos tartan trim... this was done as a nod back to the trim of the original Mk1 GTI that was released in 1976 (The current Mk6 GTI uses a trim they call Jacara, which appears to be similar).

A GTI used to be my choice of car if I were to ever replace my modern, though that honour would now go to one of the new VW Sciroccos [;)]

The MK5 seats are very comfortable and supportive, more so than the MK1 [:D]

Cheers Ron, GTi is one of the later MK1's with the 1.8 engine, its only covered 84k from new, the first owner had it for a very long time it was then bought by my local main VW agent who simply used it as a display feature in the main showroom, I bought it direct from them when they needed to free up some space, fortunately they also filled the car with obsolete VW spares just in case !!

Still prefer TR7 tho

Cheers, Paul
