GOT IT !!!!!!!!!!!!

Postby lewysdanny » 19 Jul 2009 20:56

Well guys i got the tr8 yesterday. Got it home washed & waxed it, went to go for a spin ....... nothing.... zip .... sod all. Flatened the battery trying to start it, then flatened my battery pack. After lots of try try again , got down to the fault being the dizzy, or the rotor arm. It was the later , got it going, what a buzz . I,m in work at 5am , ....... if all goes well. I,ll post some pics soon .. Cheers Tim

Welcome to the love/hate relationship of the TR8.

That sounds remarkably like my TR8 when I got it.

You will love it a lot more if you get a modern distributor and a 4 bbl carb.

I recommend the Mallory SS from Woody's. If you want to race you might upgrade, but I am very happy with the SS.

Good luck,

Amen to that! Electronic ignition & 1 big carb will make life easier & faster.
