Heater motor problems

Postby fiveacres » 01 Jul 2009 12:19

Hi again

Heater motor has stopped working on speeds 1 & 2. Have checked the wiring and all seems ok. There is power coming from the motor end through to the switch but no motor movement.

Any ideas before I have to take in and remove the heater unit - i've the dash already out.

I have the same problem, which I think is related to the control board which is electrically between the switch and the motor. Its cheap to buy and if you already have the dash out, should be very easy to fit

Howard's right,

1st and 2nd speed are run through 2 crude resistors and top speed is a direct connection. Annoyingly the heater box has to be opened to get at the circuit board (That's a compliment to it). It's pretty small. At least your dash is already off to get at it. Just follow the wires from the heater switch to the offending item.

I've just rebuilt a good heater from 2 previously reconditioned items and one of these was duff.

Hi we had this problem on Esther's 7 and we got a new heater motor from Robsport,Ithink it was about £35.00 had it fitted and no further problems,if you have your dash out it's not going to take you long to replace the motor give them a call and you might save yourself a lot of grief.[;)]
