1975 Triumph TR7 Sprint - KDU 366N (KDU366N)

Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

John, I have actually fitted a very good parcel shelf (not perfect) for general use throughout the summer months. I'm keeping the mint one I had off you for internal indoor shows only (if I'm asked to do any). They don't take 5 minutes to change and I just don't want to risk ruining another mint shelf. I once was fitting a mint shelf into one of my cars a few years back on a hot day, and whilst I was taking the old one out the new one which I'd left by the side of the car completely came unstuck, and was worse than the one I was taking out, it happened that quickly.

I wonder if there is a product that can be sprayed on the shelf to stop it happening? Paint technology is so superior to what was around 30 years ago I am sure glues and lacquers must be the same?

It's not finished yet Ron. I'm hoping to get the dash and seats fitted this weekend. Most of this trim came out of an early accident damaged coupe that I broke many years ago and stored away in the loft.

Good luck with the dash refitting Roy, mine took me ages to get back in. I found it finally worked after removing the steering wheel and column stalks, a mate to help support it and approach from the passenger side. It took a lot of wiggling and gentle persuasion but went eventually. [:)]

Thanks Andy, should be a little easier without the windscreen and seats in place. :)

I have always managed to remove and refit the dash on my own and with the steering wheel and stalks in situ - from the passenger side. Cars were a Canley FHC 1980 and a Solihull DHC 1981.

Despite the bitterly cold temperatures today things have gone amazingly well. Thanks to the electrical wizardry of my good friend Tony Francis (TR Tony)on here, everything electrical is now working on ACG 5, including would you believe, the infamous TR7 clock which, hasn't ticked in anger for some 28 years. This meant I could finally start bolting the dash back in. Should hopefully get that finished tomorrow along with bolting the seats back in. The seats look just amazing, like new. All those years of storage in a dark loft have paid dividends. More pictures will follow when the interior is finished.

Interior is now finished. I guess it's now time to start thinking about the oily bits :0 This is where it could all come crashing down around me and grind to a halt. :I

Definitely be fitting a period radio John. You know how I like to listen to the dulcet tones of Mr Lydon whilst driving [:D]

I see your early rev counter redlines at 6k whereas my later one is 6.5k. Never noticed that before. Thought only the TR8 ones were different.
