My opinion is that when im parking by Braile i dont have to worry about breaking the plastic ones!

But you miss out on those parks that are 3" too short for the bulbous bumper.

Parking by braille. The very thought of it makes me shiver.

Hay Paul, Your going to have to drive that car a lot more gently
now, mate. Those covers will melt, if that exhaust gets too close &
too hot.

I have Sabrina/Dolly Parton rear bumper on the 8, & use it to tell
the cars apart. The fact that one is a blue DHC, & the other is a
red FHC also helps.

Mine has twin exhausts, with pretty chrome tips, of a slightly
larger diameter. When one of these was sitting within 5/8" of the
bumper, it actually melted the plastic of the cover. This was while
my son had the thing in Sydney, so it was probably being driven
rather hard, at the time.

I have a gap, about an inch wide, comming back an inch & a half,
from the leading edge of the cover.

Being a bit poor at the moment, I have simply screwed with self
tappers, a bit of black painted stainless steel across the damage,
to the steel bumper, for the moment. As the damage doesn't show,
except from under the car, it may stay that way for a while. Those
covers cost more than some 7s here in Oz.

Never heard the expression 'park by braille' the way they say it here is 'park by ear'.

US rear bumpers are a good place to rest your beer when kicking tires in the garage.

Paul now thats a little different in your part of Essex! Parking by braille has to be done very carfully to gently feel what you are parking against!
Cheers
