Front ant-roll bar

Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

Its amazing, isn't it, what you learn when doing this kind of thing. Looking at Beans' reply, I thought "doh" !!! I had removed the whole lot in one go, so why on earth didn't I replace it in one go? Seems so obvious now, but we live and learn. Silly me.

Off topic, ish, I once had a 1963 DAF YA324 army truck and obviously the handbook for it was in Dutch. I swore a lot in English when working on that thing's wretched Hercules JXC side-valve engine, but never learned to swear in Dutch. The only thing I learned from the whole experience was (a) Versnellingsbak (reduction gear box) (b) banden (tyres) and (c) accu (battery). I can now speak Dutch with confidence, albeit in rather limited company, and only about three things... :mrgreen:

Versnellingsbak = gearbox
Tussenbak = reduction gear box
:wink:
Never drove the YA324, but had a go at the YA328 (artillery tractor) during my time in the army
Awesome and completely different machine, no speed at all but brilliant in any terrain ...

So, I learned a new word in Dutch! Thanks Beans.

We probably shouldn't talk too much about non-Triumphs on here, but I always wanted a YA328 as it had more wheels! But the 314/324 was as you say very good at going anywhere, but so slow! I couldn't get above 40 KPH and would get stuck behind cyclists which I could not overtake. The gear shift was odd because it was behind the driver, but the engine sang beautifully. I wish I had not sold it. My truck came from Breda and I flew to collect it. We brought it back on the ferry from the Hook of Holland.

Anyway, here is a photo of my TR7, just so we are all talking about Triumphs!

Best wishes

John
