Oh yes, that pesky grinding noise. Is it coming from the front? Front wheel bearings?

Or the back? Rear wheel bearings? Spider gears in diff?

Uhhh, I'd be more concerned about the nasty grinding noise than the gas gauge.

If it's a front wheel bearing its fiddly but not a difficult fix.

The noise seems to be coming from front both sides but only when cornering hard. If I pull round gentler there's no noise lol. Exhaust almost touching the body and is very low so may check bottom engine mount thinking about it . Car was booked in for the carbs to be tuned and balanced as the guy is really good and has always had a good name with the rally boys. Last wheel bearing I changed I had a nightmare with. Hope it's something simple and not too expensive. Bought the car at the end of last year off a guy that said everything was great on it lol I am slowly working through all the bits that were patched up and hidden. Looks great till you peel back the bodges but I'll get there thanks to the helpfull people on this site

If it makes you smile it's the right car :-)
