Hi,

I am with my learned friend Mr Turner, fill those sills with Waxoyl and any other cavity's you can. My FHC was Ziebarted from new and they drilled holes to fill the sills, although messy stuff I am sure it has helped preserve her.

Agreed. The yellow FHC was ziebarted from new and the rear screen still boasts the centennial logo!

I've used both methods in the past...........sticky tape - use the stuff that professional carpet fitters use, both surfaces must be clean. Contact adhesive - again use something the professionals use, not diy stuff, the spreadable stuff is more practical.
