I had not thought of that, but after seeing it and thinking about the benefits of it I really like. Would be nice and easy to do rather than trying to cover the pits in material too. Could use paint to cover the inside and then nice carpet on top. Than you for posting this and giving the idea. I also like the idea of the light there too.

Hi John,

Shame they took them out of the later ones. I think I will look into this or go to IKEA and get one of them $3 magnetic push lights. That may be an option to take Tue jobs list down slightly lol.

I'm in the process of adding the rear light to my Canley built FHC.
The necessary cut outs were still present in the metalwork of the roof.
I managed to get a NOS light fitting on Ebay and a spare light cover from Rimmers in their clearance bargains
The lights in the doors are ok but they dazzle a bit and aren't best placed to see everywhere in the cabin.

I will have to have a look around and see if I can feel the place for the light in the roof metal. I have since found a light that can be used and think it will be a good add on. The rear shelf will look good and with the hide compartmentsa light would be good.

I like this idea. I was thinking of a similar idea that I could mount some speakers in also.

This is the rear parcel shelf cover from TEF 89R.

The lines on it are to help describe the size as the bottom is straight but the top curved.

The height in the middle is 216mm, and near the ends before the curve it is 206 mm, so a 1cm drop (shown as the difference between the lines).

The width is an even 971mm, before the curves.

This shelf is made of hardboard which appears to be 10mm inc. the vinyl, so probably 8mm board?
