Its a car with a very debatable history as well:

I think the message is to contact Bert Smeets through the TR Drivers Club magazine if you are genuinely interested in order to get the full picture.

Hi,
A lot car BUT a Lot of money,
If you were to buy a similar car used on the tracks (ie a genuine saloon car racer FIA papers ect) with IF the history is correct i would guess you pay a similar if not more. Look at the money 'real' Escort RS 1600 and 1800 are going for! This MK1 Escort, ok has a bunch of history and is tied up with the famous Zakspeed Co. BUT how much [:0] A rare car but so are real works TR7's

Now if only i was a retired bank director [:(!]
Cheers John

Works Rally V8's were TR7V8 not TR8 (except USA) so technically the description is wrong from the outset. Anyone thinking of buying this car needs to research it's history and satisfy themselves exactly what they are paying 30K for..

It looks like the car was up for auction (but didn't sell) around three years ago.
