TR7 Sprint Info

Postby PeterTR7V8 » 31 Jul 2009 09:32

How many 7 Sprints were made? Are they all accounted for?

I was told by an ex-pat Yorkshireman about a Sprint that fell into his hands several years ago in the UK & not knowing what he had he flogged it off for a couple of hundy. I'd hate to cast aspersions on an otherwise top bloke but I never know whether to believe his stories & it would be great to catch him out. If there were only a handful of Sprints then it should be easy to check his story.

Its probably true Peter, for some reason most of the sprints have stayed around the Yorkshire area and they were worth the same as a normal TR7 before we discovered how rare they were. In Sheffield, Yorkshire where I live there are no less than 5 out of total production of 25-30.

Weren't there about 60 made to homologate them for international rallying?

No, even including LHD, there was no more than 40. The car was homologated before any 16v cars had been built.

Cheers all. I didn't realise so many were made. How many are still around?
