76HP?! That's not a lot.
Have you still got the original carbs fitted? I believe strombergs tend to run rich if they are not in good order & the thinner air will cause a carb to run even richer so get them checked & lean them out if you want more power. It will mean that trips down to sea level will make the mixture too lean but if you want self adjusting then convert to EFI.
As an aside, with the Weber/Edelbrock fitted to my V8 I can set the jets then just change the tapered (stepped, really) rods that modulate the jet size by moving in & out of the jets according to the vacuum. To access them you just need to remove the air filter & they can be changed in 2 mins. I use bigger rods to lean it out for touring & thinner rods for performance. Much more intelligent design than the Holley or the Stroms.
