Which car did Harris Mann choose as his favorite?

Not surprisingly, Harris picked a very nice TR7 coupe. There should be pictures posted on the VTR2014 website soon.

Thanks and sorry about the long distance award, you certainly deserved it making that trek.

John Clifford won the Harris Mann award for a great looking, standard TR7 in what looked like British Racing Green. I think a lot of us got a bit emotional when John came up to collect his award. It was very moving and thankfully I managed to video it so all being well it will be included in the TR7 40th DVD.

Did I mention that I drove TR8 number 1... and also the Lanocha 1000bhp behemoth? [:)]

At the 2007 ATDI in Steveston, BC there was a Stag there that came up from California by way of Pennsylvania. I don't think he won the long distance award as they used Google maps as there was a few California cars that were close. If I was there I would have said it took me 19,000 miles since I left in 2007 but took me a while and had a few side trips to Portland and one to San Diego.

Hi,

Great pictures fella, thanks for sharing. Not a huge fan of sunroof's in our cars but that sliding roof looks a neat install. Rest of the pictures confirm that some of the best TR7 / 8's live over the pond.

John, WOW two awesome car's to drive, living the dream [8D]

Cheers John

Lots of nice cars. The main disadvantage to driving a car like the Lanocha TR8 on the street is that you would always be stopped for speeding when going 10 mph under the speed limit.

Wish we could have gone. Congratulations Ken on making the trip (hope you make it back, too!). May still get to Triumphest to see everyone in a couple weeks down in Santa Maria, CA.

Getting back to the West Coast may prove more difficult than getting to the VTR Nationals. The first part of the return trip was easy. I talked to Ted Schumacher on Saturday about my missing rear axle bump stops. He said he would have them for me by Tuesday if I stopped by his shop on my way from Cincinnati to Minneapolis. True to his word, Ted not only had the parts, he loaned me garage space, a floor jack, stands, and an air wrench to do the installation. Ted and his pal Gary coached me through the process, and gave me a tour of Ted's facility.

Late this afternoon, nearing my sister-in-law's place in Minneapolis, the beast started overheating. It acted like the thermostat was sticking with wild swings in the temperature, but removal of the thermostat only provided temporary relief. The fan is functioning. I'm thinking maybe the water pump isn't circulating the water. We got a room in Red Wing and will look for a shop in the morning.

Had the car transported to Quality Coaches in Minneapolis, a shop recommended to me by Ted Schumacher. They're supposed to get a water pump tomorrow morning and hopefully we'll be back on the road Tuesday. The upside is we are staying with Dolly's sister in Minneapolis, and they are getting more time to visit than expected.

Ken- It would be nice to see the pump they get.
Remember a lot of them don't have the bypass

Bad luck Ken. I was rooting for you to make it trouble free. Hope all works out well.
