Wheel centres for MGF wheels

Postby MrT » 28 Mar 2009 16:25

Are there any known sources for either a Triumph or TR7 badge suitable to cover the MG logo in the centre of MGF 'minilite' wheels? They really look the part, but the MG badges are a bit of a giveaway...

My DHC had a set of MGF wheels that were bought from Robsport by the PO. They had Triumph logo centres - so try Robsport, or S&S.

Well I've got my new badges, but what's the best way to fit them? The MG badges aren't exactly flush with the caps - are they recessed, or just stuck on the surface? Is it best to just stick these new aluminium badges over the MG badges, where they'll obviously 'overhang' in 8 places, or somehow remove the MG badges first?

Try heating the MG badges with a hair dryer to soften the glue and
they should come off easy enough. Then remove remaining glue with WD40
(other brands available!)or petrol. When thoroughly clean and grease
free,stick the new ones on,ta daa,easy!

See ya. Paul

ah the Mg badges are not that simple Paul they are set in so you have a couple of options. peal off the clear cover off of the Mg badge in all cases
then you could fill the MG octagon and spray paint the centre cap then stick the triumph badge over with a superglue or araldite or a clear silicon mastic

or live with the corners of the octagon showing and again stick the triumph badges over.
