How the Bad News was broken...

Postby gingerstu » 25 Jan 2009 19:42

..to the world in May 1981

The first link is the short version, just mentioning The Closure & the reaction to it (around 40secs). the second is the full news from the same day (about 2 mins long)

Unfortunately, the hosting website I have stuck these on will only allow upto 10 downloads so I'll see if I can find a better solution

In the meantime, I am sure a tear will slip down your cheeks as you hear of The Closure of Solihull.....

cheers

That was cool. It took me a while to realise that was history.

If you 'enjoyed' that you will enjoy Clarkson's "Who killed the British Motor Industry."

At the dinner table last night, we came to the agreement that Mr Clarkson's onscreen personality could recite The Lord's Prayer and make it sound like an derisive insult. When it was remarked no one ever contributed to build a statue to honor a critic, Abner offered to donate a match for his crematory pyre. Observing Mr Clarkson has yet to depart the mortal coil, the common consensus shouted, 'Why wait?'

The pot roast was good, too.

Mr Clarkson would start reciting the Lord's Prayer & half way thru decide it was about him but that is no reason to go around burning people you don't like.
