Sound abatement material

Postby Bendder » 28 Apr 2008 19:00

Has anyone used any and if so what type didyou use and were you satisfied with the results? I have ordered my carpet set and thought that if I'm going to replace them I may as well insulate against sound at the same time. I have been looking at B-Quiet (www.b-quiet.com) and have gone through thier web site and they seem to have a good product but I was wondering what others have used.

I am in the process of installing B-quiet in my FHC. The quality is the same as Dynamat at a much lower price.
I have no idea how effective it is as so far I have only done the footwells and the roof. Time will tell!
The will send you a set of samples on request.

Yoke,

I don't know of anyone selling the B-Quiet material but if you ask they will supposedly send you some samples. I have read that the shipping is realy fast.

I bought it direct from B-Quiet in Alberta. That's another advantage for us Canucks, no customs.
Their shipping was very quick.

In the Grinnall, I need an intercom to talk to the passenger, no amount of sound deadenning will work[;)]

There is factory sound deadening material in my car, applied to flat areas of floor (can't recall about firewall). My wife complains about how load it is especially with the top down but she's comparing with the A/C'd Integra with the windows always rolled up. What she's hearing is traffic noise of cars around her and wind in her ear with the top down. You don't that in the Acura.
