Window stopper???????

Postby zekow1 » 13 Sep 2009 16:10

I just installed the window unit to the rails and Window
after I took it apart and cleaned greased ,took the Sextagon out so I could connect the Generic power window motor.

????IS there supposed to be something that stops it at the top end and the bottom end of the cycle????

Mine goes all the way up till it gets out of the window

And down till it falls to the door.

I must be missing something???

??? I also have anothere problem ??
WHen I roll it up by hand it slides down easy by it self or if i push on it .??

I left something Out??

I am including some pisc .

Zekow1,

Your top stop is installed as I can see the two screw heads in the photo. The bottom stop is the crimp in the gear in the original winding mechanism.

I would suggest that you install micro switches that stop the current flowing to the motor when a certain position is reached.

Window falling down, sounds like the weight of the window is overpowering the motor drive and turning the motor, allowing the window to go down.

The two bolts (screws) are the silver looking bolt heads in your picture in the upper indent on door. Make sure the up stop is right way on, it contacts the lower metal rail of the window preventing it from going higher. It is adjusted so top of window just fits into the rubber corner block on the quarter window.
